On the African American Faith Martyr Dr. King (On-King) is a faith-based journal contribution to the diverse Black American social movement conversation and practice aimed at reclaiming the authentic life and legacy Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from the distortions and obfuscations of the established order media, its politicians, religious, cultural, and corporate leaders.
The above Black alternative media conversation and movement are exemplified by the recent counter-cultural works of Rev. Dr. Cornel West of New York City's Union Theological Seminary, Alternative Media Journalist, Tavis Smiley, and Afrocentric Ethicist, Dr. Maulana Karenga, Professor and Chair of Africana Studies at CAL State ULB, to name just three.
Our cause is to research and present in this space quotes and comments reflecting the genuine thinking of Dr. King weekly.
What's more, On-King seeks to structurally contribute to answering the call of both heaven and history to , in the words of Dr. Karenga, "reclaim (Dr. King) define, defend, and keep his legacy alive thru constant reflection on it and thru making it a part f our personal and collective practice (LA Sentinel, 01-18-15, p. A6)." All for the common good.
